Thank you for your support of a purely NZ-owned small business.** A beautifully made mid-century spotting scope, likely manufactured in Japan during the late 1950s and supplied in New Zealand through General Optical Laboratories, Vivian Street, Wellington. The scope features a solid metal body with a textured finish, quality metal fittings, and a 60 mm objective lens marked “D = 60 mm”. It comes with its original cardboard storage box, stamped with the retailer’s details, and includes a full set of interchangeable eyepieces offering 15×, 20×, 30×, 40×, and 60× magnification. A handwritten date inside the box appears to show 1959, matching the period of manufacture.
