A charming and characterful mid-century table lighter, crafted in the form of an elephant and stamped "Made in Japan" on the underside. This novelty piece is made from spelter metal with a bronzed finish, mimicking the look of aged bronze. The elephant is finely modelled with detailed features including a raised trunk, decorative saddle, and rivet-style accents. The removable petrol lighter mechanism sits atop the saddle and lifts out completely for refuelling or potential restoration.
