Description

Whistle made from two bent pieces of metal, with a flat and and a curved end.

Use

In birthday parties. Sold by street vendors at zoos and parks with children’s attractions.

Context

Sold in zoos and fairs. Whistle made by artisans known as "merolicos". This name was also given to the person who sold such artisanal goods. It i unclear if this was bought in the late-1980s or early-1990s. A bunch of them were bought for a children's birthday party.
