Scope and Content

Jean Page Collection MS 30 Jean Page Collection Jean Page [March 31, 1915 - January 3, 1998] was the daughter of Boulder Canyon Project office engineer John C. Page. Jean was 17 when she arrived in Boulder City in 1931 and she grew up on the project surrounded by Bureau of Reclamation officers and Six Companies executives. As an adult Jean published portions of her memoirs in From Hoof to Wheel: The History of Grand Junction, Colorado [1992], as well as a small book of poetry, Verses From My Mountain [c. 1984]. Near the end of her life she began composing autobiographical essays on her life in Boulder City, several of which were broadcast in southern Nevada on KRRI-FM radio in a local history spot project sponsored by the Boulder Dam Credit Union. The Jean Page Collection consists of autograph letters and ephemera relative to her father's career; her father’s diaries from the years 1930, 1931, 1932, 1934, and 1935; and autobiographical essays and writings on Boulder City's history. Correspondence between Jean Page, her mother, Mildred Sloan Page, and Dennis McBride is housed in MS 16 [Boulder City Pioneers: Personal Recollections]. * * *
