Anna Roberts Parks Collection
The federal government required Boulder City to have a mortuary, a need met by Anna . Roberts Parks, Nevada’s first female mortician. She and her husband had founded Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas In 1926, and later opened Parks Mortuary and Ambulance Service in Boulder City, managed by H.C. Garrison. Anna was also a savvy business woman and collector, whose collection became the foundation of the Clark County Museum.
The funeral records, covering June 11, 1932 to December 24, 1937, include 164 detailed entries with personal and service-related information. It also includes death certificates and correspondence.
This collection also features a 1933 book on Hoover Dam Contracts, a hard hat used during the dam’s construction, and additional documents donated by Myron Welsh to support future research.
