Boulder City Women’s Bowling Association
The Boulder City Women’s Bowling Association traces its origins back to September 1949, when 71 women came together to form four bowling leagues. Although the details of their initial gathering remain undocumented, it was clear that they sought recognition and support for their activities. To achieve this, they applied to the Women’s International Bowling Congress and were awarded a charter on December 10, 1949. While the meeting minutes from this period are limited and somewhat ambiguous, it is known that they established a local association named Boulder City Women’s Bowling Association. The first officers elected were President Mabel Trost, Vice President Lucille Salter, Secretary-Treasurer Lois Dryer, and Sergeant-at-Arms Tillie Farnsworth.
This collection includes seven binders that chronicle the history of the association from 1949 to 1998, providing valuable insights into its activities and evolution over the decades.Collection
