Dr. James B. French Papers MS 53 Dr. James B. French Papers Dr. James French [July 26, 1912 - July 16, 1972] first came to Nevada in June 1949 to serve as chief of surgery at Nellis Air Force Base. He was living and practicing in Henderson, Nevada when that city was incorporated and served as its first mayor. In 1950 French became a partner with Drs. E. A. and Donald M. MacCornack in the Boulder Clinic in Boulder City. He moved to Boulder in 1958 and was elected as a Boulder City councilman, and as mayor in 1969. He served two terms as the Boulder City Hospital's chief of staff, and in the 1960s ran an unsuccessful campaign for Clark County Commissioner. The material in this collection includes French's military records and several professional plaques and citations. * * *
