The Boulder City Union School District was created on August 28, 1933 when the Six Companies and Bureau of Reclamation turned control and maintenance of Boulder City schools over to the state of Nevada, after having had responsibility for them in 1932-33. Boulder City remained in its own district until 1956 when it was consolidated into the Clark County School District.
MS 58 includes copies of correspondence from the National Archives relative to Boulder City's schools [1930-39], the meeting minutes of the District's Board of Trustees from its first meeting on September 15, 1933 through March 27, 1936. Also included in the collection is the district's corporate seal, and a petition to place a woman on the Boulder City Board of Education to replace H. O. Watts, who retired in 1951.
