The buildings known as the Whitney Place was built by John D. Prescott as a hotel and he was in trade there for a time. John Whitney bought the place and was in trade there fora long time. After his death, his heirs sold to Absalam Gordon and he ran a store there for several years. The place was then owned by Georgia Holbrook, a daughter of Mrs. Gordon.Photograph Details
