EXETER HIGH SCHOOL: Exeter High School was incorporated in March 1838 and did not have its own official building.
In 1855 School District No. 3 built a building that was used for both a high school and a public school.
Exeter High School became the third Free High School in Penobscot County and the eighth in the state of Maine.
