Hillside Creamery: This creamery was built in 1893 by Davis & Rankin Mfg. Co., of Chicago, for the Elgin Butter System Co., of Portland, Maine. Francis W. Hill, of Exeter purchased the business shortly after completion and partnered with George Jewett of Norridgewock, Maine and operated under the firm name, Hill & Jewett. On May 8, 1913 while under the ownership of L. E. Brown, of Bangor, the building burned. It was located on the present day Cider Hill Road in Exeter Corner.Photograph Details
