These binders of Makoshika records were donated to Gregory Hagenston by Bette Payton, the daughter of Dr. R. W. Hiatt. The information was used for the foundation of two books written by Gregory Hagenston — Greg and Doc, Two Souls Surrounded by Badlands (A Memoir of Adventure, Discovery, Anguish and Triumph). And the second book — Greg and Doc, Two Souls Surrounded by Badlands (Part II, Makoshika).
