My dear father /
[crossed out] We arrived here yesterday in full / health and spirits, and were received very cordially / by the girls- Matilda came to see us last evening / she has grown very fat,(as you say) & has very much / improved in her appearance, she seemed quite delighted to see us; she says Madame Grelaud will / not believe it possible that I am going to school / there- Eliza is well- My best love to Mamma / and Bessy- I never saw any body more altered / then Becky Gratz, she is but the shadow of her / former self- I wish you would send me some / money- for I want to get a hat & a corset / & some other things-
