Hartford June 6th 1834/
My dear Mrs. Nicholas,/
I’ve arrived in Nyack from our loathsom/ journey on the evening of the 2nd and B[unrecovered] & Karen brethren/ were much disappointed in not seeing you They talked a long time/ about their disappointment & said “We shall never see Mama’s Nicholas/ again until we get to Heaven”! The preceding page written by [unrecovered]/[unrecovered] you will be able to translate for the amusement of/ those friends whose names are mentioned. I enclose a picture of/ both which they send you with sincere christian love [unrecovered]/ is now absent from us for a few days with [Isa?] & Sister Winton so/ not he denied the pleasure of writing a part in this letter-/
Mr W[ork] is also in Boston so that poor [unrecovered] and/ myself are obliged to receive company from morning to night and/ we feel almost worn out, as this [unrecovered] [unrecovered] will testify you will/ learn all about our journeying from letters to my dear Parents &/ To that I will also add that we are all well & long to be on our/ way to Boston again. We hope to sail as early as the 20th How are your/ two Daughters with [Pa] Whitman Miss L- Clark & all our dear Hamil-/tons friends? Oh how sweet will Heaven be, when we all get home where/ wide seas will not more separate us, and where nothing shall ever again/ separate us from the face of God Till then dont forget to pray for-/
