He sends you a great / deal of love and desires me to tele / you that Nance kittens have grown / quite large and are very good / and very playful. Billy has grown / quite cross and he and Nance / fight a great deal. How do you / like the present cousin Fanny / sent you? I hope you will answer / her letter soon. She often speaks of / Page 2 You with great affection and she / would like to hear from you very / much. Julia sends her love to you / she will eventually write by Mr [?] / Are you going to have cotillion / parties once a fortnight? And where / are you going to have them? / Tell Mother I believe Uncle Phil / has gone to the Lake for I have not seen him since the [?] day that / Jean [?] town. How does French / school come on? Ask Mother if I may / not have the frock that cousin / Fanny gave me dyed a margarine / blue. Tell her it is very much foiled / and that I have worn it a great / Page 3 And have saved my other silk / I did not alter it because I thought / as I would have it dyed than / better not. And now dear Em I must / bid you goodbye as I have several / things to do before I go to see the / [?] player. Do write me very soon / and let it be a longer letter than / the last.
