Thursday morning
I am at home again my / dearest Emma and only wish to see / you once more to be perfectly contented. / Can you not come down and stay all / night with me, for I have a thousand / things to tell you. I have had a most / delightful jaunt, and I would have gone up to see you yesterday but / was too much fatigued to go out. /
Mary Rhinelander we left in New / Haven she sent her best love to you & / your mother and all; and to her love / I add mine. I will not write for I / cannot say all I wish to, now do / not hesitate about coming down, but / put your tooth brush in your bag / and come as soon as possible / expecting to stay.
Your affectionate friend
