Dear Emma
Our poor tracts will have to go / undistributed again to day [sic] for as Aunt has an / important engagement down town, and does not / like to leave little sis with the servants, lest she / should be exposed and take cold, I must necessarily / remain at home, likewise Uncle is quite unwilling / to have [^ me] go to day [sic] owing to the badness of the walk / ing. I shall not attend the meeting this afternoon / as it will not be very pleasant not to be able to / hand in a Report. I shall see you to-morrow [sic] if / nothing prevent [sic] and will talk about the business. This delay in the distribution of our tracts is / quite unfortunate, yet I do not see how it could /
[END OF PAGE 1]
Have been avoided. Bad weather, and sickness are / things not exactly at our disposal, but we may / hope that the like circumstances will not often / happen Good bye Yours with great affection
Mary Ella
