This clarinet belonged to Herb Beem, a member of the Michigan State College Marching Band in the 1950s. It was played during the Spartan Marching Band's trip to the 1954 Rose Bowl. Among the details listed on the still-intact MSC Band travel tag is the train car number and bed number of the band member. The maker of the clarinet is A. Fontaine.
