Samuel W. Mayer of Holt was a State Representative, local official, postmaster, and general store proprietor. The contents include letters, and clippings related to his career. The scrapbook was assembled from an M. Born & Co. Merchant Tailors 1896-1897 sample book. Letters from Orlando Mack (O.M.) Barnes and Congressman S.W. Smith. This scrapbook came from the estate of his granddaughter, Marilyn Culpepper.
