A bayonet that was found on the banks of the Tomifobia River in Stanstead in 1800. It was found on Lot No. 10 in the 7th Range of Stanstead by James Bodwell in what would eventually become the town of Tomifobia. The donors believed that the bayonet belonged to one of the Rogers' Rangers, who lost it on the return march from the St. Francis River, where the local Indigenous population defeated the group. The retreating party divided, some going through by Barford via the Coldbrook Route, the others coming through Stanstead up the Tomifobia. This bayonet was in the possession of John Gustin (1768-1841), who settled in 1800 on the farm in Stanstead. - - - - Une baïonnette trouvée sur les rives de la rivière Tomifobia à Stanstead en 1800.
