Scope and Content

The Special Order of the Day issued by Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig containing information to be distributed to all ranks. This contained transcripts of messages exchanged between Sir Douglas Haig who Commanded the British Forces in France and the Supreme Allied Commander, Marshal Ferdinand Foch, of France, and General Philippe Petain who led the French Army. They are celebrating the Armistice, and are exchanging congratulations to be shared with the troops.
