Research Notes

Notes

Accompanying the composite photo is a letter from Lieut G.H. Howard Hodges of the RMR writing to the Editor of the Regimental Journal "Intercomm" from Amersfoort following the ceremony. He described the proceedings and named a number of RMR officers who came from elsewhere to attend the event. He provided a sketch to serve as a legend identifying all the officers on the parade ground appearing in the composite photo. He also enclosed a number of photographs of this event as well as another parade when the RMR turned over Guard duties at Army H.Q to the Cdn. Grenadier Guards on June 30, 1945, and photos of some of the new officers who had recently joined the Battalion.
