2017x.27.78Description
A portrait of Company Clerk Private Val A. O'Sullivan seated at his desk in a Quonset hut. These habitations were semi-cylindrical lightweight prefabricated structures made of galvanized steel. Hundreds of thousands of these huts were produced during World War II to accommodate military personnel overseas.
He is seen here reading a ledger or a book. In the background a bulletin board with a number of clipboards is visible. A bugle, also visible on the top left, would be used to call the troops.Photograph Details
