A black and white photo of The Royal Montreal Regiment family marching up Metcalf Avenue to the Regimental Church (St Matthias) for a Thanksgiving Service, at the conclusion of War in Europe.
In the lead are the old guard, members of the RMR Association, Br 14 Royal Canadian Legion and veterans of World War I. They are followed by a vanguard of returning members from the 1st Battalion RMR - some still wearing the black beret of the Armoured Corps, and lastly, the main body formed by the men of the 2nd Battalion RMR.
On that date, the Regimental Colours of the RMR have not yet returned to Canada. They were still in Holland with the 1st Battalion.Photograph Details
