Notes
Of passing note is the fact that upon his return to Canada in the summer of 1945, Private John Peirson entered McGill University where he played hockey on the University team during the 1945-46 season. It was there that he was spotted by scouts for the Boston Bruins of the NHL and offered a spot with their affiliated teams, the Boston Olympics and Hershey Bears, where he played from 1946 to 1948.
He then played right wing for the Boston Bruins until the end of the 1957-58 season. Following his retirement, he became a prominent broadcaster and colour analyst for the Bruins. He was also an avid golfer participating in amateur tournaments in both Canada and the USA.
