A small group of people are standing in front of the partially damaged Cloth Hall in Ypres, Belgium in 1914.
Construction of the Cloth Hall started in 1200. The initial damage to the building occurred during the First Battle of Ypres in November 1914. The city of Ypres was in the centre of a major battle during the Great War and damage to the building continued until the end of the conflict. By 1918 the building was completely destroyed. It has since been reconstructed.Subject
