William Garnet "Bing" Coughlin was a Canadian born cartoonist who served in the Canadian Army during World War II. He started to draw military-related cartoons during the invasion of Sicily. His drawings, which were featured in the magazine The Maple Leaf, showed the daily life of soldiers and quickly became popular with the Canadian troops. “Bing” as he signed himself became the voice of Canadian servicemen.
