A black and white photograph of the Memorial cross in the town square of Tamines, Belgium. It commemorates the 393 townspeople who were masacred and another 98 who were wounded there by the German Army on August 22, 1914. In this photo the large cross is surrounded by twelve civilians, both adults and children, and four Canadian(?) soldiers.
