Scope and Content

A plea for help in the War effort written by Private Albert Smith of the 14th Battalion. An Englishman, he enlisted at Valcartier in September 1914 and took his discharge in England in 1919. He was a signwriter by trade which probably explains the neatness of his writing and accuracy of his depiction of the Regimental crest.
