Description

Bare headed soldiers are standing around the grave of a deceased soldier about to be buried. He is resting on a stretcher wrapped in a blanket. A white memorial marker bears his name and details. On the left, at the foot of the grave a soldier standing with his helmet in his hand, while an officer reads the burial service. The grave marker reads: "In the memory of Pte J.W. Robinson 3rd Bn. 430519 Killed in action." Pte Joseph William Robinson was killed in action on Sept. 22, 1916 while serving in the 3rd Cdn. Pioneer Bn.
