Two lines of Canadian soldiers moving to the right across the Passchendaele battlefield. The ground is covered with shell craters filled with water. Many of the soldiers are carrying wooden "duck boards" or trench mats. These are used to help cross water filled ground or to provide drier footing in water filled trenches.Photograph Details
