Description

Officers of 1st Battalion,The Royal Montreal Regiment (M.G.), of the 1st Division, Canadian Active Service Force, in Service dress posing in front of the armoury's main door. Canada declared itself at war with Germany on 10 September 1939, and this group photo was taken 5 days later, as a 1st Battalion (Active force), and a 2nd Battalion (Reserve force) were being formed. The 1st Bn RMR embarked for Great Britain on 7 December 1939, and returned to Canada on 6 October 1945.
