Serving as a morale booster to soldiers on the front lines, the famous Kandahar's Tim Hortons concession counter was operated on the Boardwalk in Kandahar Airfield. It was operational from 2006 to 2014 and some 323 Canadian civilians worked at this Tim Hortons. They would serve for a total of six months at a time and they were paid about around $20,000 for their tour.
Tired of eating Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE) soldiers would welcome the change of pace in their diet when they visited Kandahar Airfield. Other concessions such as Burger King, an Orange Julius, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen were available on the boardwalk.Photograph Details
