Don Cherry, a well-known Canadian hockey commentator, was visiting the troops in Afghanistan as a guest of Rob Ford, the Mayor of Toronto.
They attended and spoke at a Christmas dinner event with members of the Canadian Forces. Famous for his eccentric suits, he is here wearing a sand pattern CADPAT suit jacket and he is posing with a group of soldiers including Corporal Justin Iaconetti on the right.
The group is holding beer bottles. These were possibly nonalcoholic beverages since alcohol was not permitted for Canadian soldiers on mission in Afghanistan. Exceptions were sometimes made on special events, such as Christmas.Photograph Details
