Description

Military Members of the Allied Military Government in Occupied Europe pose shortly after their arrival in France in July 1944. Judging by their uniforms, they are possibly a mix of American, British and Commonwealth soldiers. They were assigned the task of cooperating with the local authorities as the Allied forces liberated French territory.
