A Quonset, an Alaska military shelter, set up at Kandahar Airfield. This tent known as ''Canada House" would provide a home away from home to the Canadian soldiers based in Kandahar Airfield or on a visit to the base.
Organizers would schedule inter-unit, and inter-country games of floor-hockey, volleyball, basketball and other friendly sports events. Here soldiers could watch the televised Olympic Games and NHL hockey games in a dry (sans alcohol) environment.Photograph Details
