Description

A cope c. 1850, possibly French, on gold fabric with burgundy velvet appliqué floral elements stitched with gold metal threads. Bullion fringe has possibly been added at a later date surrounding three sides. There is a center medallion with the letters: I/I/I/S surrounded by a floral motif. The cope was purchased in France by the donor.
