HeraldryDescription
The shield with three cockerels are topped by an armored knights headpiece which is in turn topped by a crown with wings and stars, a white wing tops the entirety. A veil hangs from the crown with a white lining and blue exterior.Below all is runs a banner inscribed, "Calm in Action."Context
The three cockerels on the shield may represent the cant for the Cockburn Scottish surname that originated in the borders regions of the Scottish lowlands. This is an art study for an embroidery. The embroidery is not in the SFSNAD collection and it is unknown if Ms. Creelman ever stitched this piece.Collection
