Conservation

Notes

When the fabric was removed from the birdseye maple frame, it was noticed that the fabric had creases in it where it had been folded. A guess might be that one of the reasons it survived as well as it has was that it was folded and stored in a drawer where it was away from light, air, dust and other deteriorating elements. Vera Cutler always displayed the sample since she received it in the mid 1950s on a wall away from any direct light . Linda Cutler Widmer has continued that process.
