The colors are faded and the fabric has darkened.Conservation
Notes
When the fabric was removed from the birdseye maple frame, it was noticed that the fabric had creases in it where it had been folded. A guess might be that one of the reasons it survived as well as it has was that it was folded and stored in a drawer where it was away from light, air, dust and other deteriorating elements. Vera Cutler always displayed the sample since she received it in the mid 1950s on a wall away from any direct light . Linda Cutler Widmer has continued that process.Acquisition
