Name/Title
Helmholtz Ophthalmoscope, ReplicaEntry/Object ID
2Description
In 1946 Dr. George Campion found this ophthalmoscope in the rubble of the Nagasaki Medical School, Department of Ophthalmology, following the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
Experts believe this is a Japanese replica of a Helmholtz ophthalmoscope, as the handle appears too modern for the middle of the nineteenth century. It has a unique clip arrangement for holding the correcting lenses.Dimensions
