ثوب الأرامل من منطقة بيت لحم، من قماش القطن الأسود، مُطرّز بخيوط حرير يغلب عليها اللون الأحمر والأزرق. قبة الثوب مُطرّزة بشكل كثيف بخيوط حرير بعرق يسمى خيمة الباشا، أما الأكتاف فطُرّزت بعرق السرو والمراوح، بينما طُرّزت الردهة الخلفية بعرق المقص. وطُرّزت الأكمام المردنة بعرق السرو والريش والأشكال الهندسية، أما إسورة الكم فطُرّزت بالأشكال الهندسية على قطعة من قماش الكتان البرتقالي، كما يوجد قطعة من قماش القطن باللون البرتقالي حول الردان. يظهر تطريز كثيف من عروق الريش والسرو والمراوح على البدن الأمامي للثوب والبنايق، أما البدن الخلفي فيظهر عليه تطريز من عرق الريش والسرو والأشكال الهندسية. ذيل الثوب مُطرّز بقطبة الحشي باللون الأحمر دلالة على أن المرأة فكّت حدادها ومستعدة للزواج مرة أخرى.

Widows thobe (dress) from Bethlehem. It is made of black cotton and embroidered with primarily red and blue silk threads. The chest panel of the thobe is heavily embroidered with Pasha’s tent motifs. The shoulders are embroidered with cypress and fans motifs, whereas the back of the chest panel (the upper back neckline) has a tatreez (embroidery) of scissors motifs. As for the sleeves, they are mradan (long triangular sleeves) and embroidered with cypress and feather motifs and geometric shapes, while the cuffs are made of orange linen and embroidered with geometric shapes. The front panel and sides (al-Banayiq) of the thobe are heavily embroidered with feather, cypress, and fans motifs. Moreover, the back panel has a tatreez of geometric shapes along with feather and cypress motifs. The tail of the thobe is embroidered using a Tihshaya (couching) filling stitch in red threads indicating that the woman wearing this thobe is no longer mourning and willing to get remarried.Made/Created
