ثوب من منطقة بئر السبع، من قماش القطن الأسود، مطرز بخيوط حرير يغلب عليها اللون الأحمر والخمري. قبة الثوب مُطرّزة بشكل كثيف بالأشكال النباتية، أما النياشين فطُرّزت بالأشكال الهندسية، بينما لا تحمل الردهة الخلفية أي تطريز. وطُرّزت الأكمام بعرق الريش والأشكال الهندسية والنباتية، أما إسورة الكم فطُرّزت بالمناجل. ويظهر تطريز كثيف من عرق الريش والسرو والطير (أبو سعد\نحام) والأشكال الهندسية على البدن الأمامي للثوب، ويظهر تطريز كثيف من عرق الورد والريش والسرو والأشكال الهندسية على البدن الخلفي للثوب، أما البنايق فطُرّزت بعرق الورد والأشكال الهندسية. وطُرّز ذيل الثوب بقطبة الحشي السائد استخدامها في أثواب منطقة بئر السبع.
A thobe (dress) from Bir Saba’. It is made of black cotton and embroidered with primarily red and burgundy silk threads. The chest panel of the thobe is heavily embroidered with plant shapes. As for the Nayashin (medal), they are embroidered with geometric shapes, while the back of the chest panel (the upper back neckline) bears no tatreez (embroidery). The sleeves have a tatreez of feather motifs and plant and geometric shapes, whereas the cuffs have a tatreez of manajil (sickles) motifs. The front panel of the thobe is densely embroidered with feather, cypress, birds (flamingos) motifs along with geometric shapes. As for the back panel, it has a heavy tatreez of rose, feather, and cypress motifs and geometric shapes. The sides (al-Banayiq) are embroidered with rose motifs and geometric shapes. Additionally, the tail of the thobe is embroidered using a Tihshaya (couching) filling stitch, the stitch type used in all thobes from the Bir Saba’ area.Made/Created
