ثوب من منطقة بئر السبع، من قماش القطن الأسود، مطرز بخيوط حرير يغلب عليها اللون الأحمر. قبة الثوب والنياشين مُطرّزة بعرق الريش بألوان ربيعية متنوعة. وطُرّزت الأكمام بعرق السرو، أما إسورة الكم فطُرّزت بالأشكال الهندسية. يظهر تطريز خفيف من عرق الريش والسرو على البدن الأمامي للثوب، بينما يظهر تطريز كثيف من عرق السرو والمراوح وخيمة الباشا والأشكال الهندسية على البدن الخلفي للثوب، أما البنايق فطُرّزت بشكل كثيف بعرق السرو والمراوح والمقص والريش. وطُرّز ذيل الثوب بقطبة الحشي السائد استخدامها في أثواب منطقة بئر السبع.
A thobe (dress) from Bir Saba’. It is made of black cotton and embroidered with primarily red silk threads. The chest panel of the thobe and the Nayashin (medal) is embroidered with feather motifs in flower and spring colours. As for the sleeves are embroidered with cypress motifs, whereas the cuffs are embroidered with geometric shapes. The front panel of the thobe has a light tatreez (embroidery) of feather and cypress motifs, while the back panel bears a heavy tatreez of cypress, fans, scissors, and feather motifs. Additionally, the tail of the thobe is embroidered using a Tihshaya (couching) filling stitch, the stitch type used in all thobes from the Bir Saba’ area.Made/Created
