Photographs by William Short; oral histories by Willa Seidenberg and William Short. William Short is a Viet Nam combat veteran, an educator and photographer based in Los Angeles. He was Associate Director of the Indochina Arts Project at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, Massachusetts. He was artist in residence at the Addison Gallery of American Art at the Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He has been a National Public Radio commentator, addressing issues of war and fatherhood. He was an associate producer on the film “Sir, No Sir” which is about GI resistance. William Short's photos are represented in collections at the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Huntington Library, the Polaroid Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts, Ha Noi, Viet Nam, the William Joiner Archives at the University of Massachusetts and the Colorado Collection at the University of Colorado. The work has been exhibited throughout the United States, as well as, Japan, Germany, Australia and Viet Nam.
