Rehearsing Justices Abolitionist Perspectives Emerged from CommunitiesDescription
This book is an abolitionist rehearsal, a trace of different emancipatory paths tried out together. A process of investigAction moved by rage, desire, and hope. In it, we do not seek readymade answers, but good questions and inspiring practices.
What is justice? What are we seeking for when we persue justice? What kind of justice do we want?
It was created by people and collectives who live the consequences of structural injustices and, nevertheless, invent practices of resistance, protection, and healing. For this reason, the work brings together essays and diverse experiences that, when touching each other, nourish worlds that set justice in motion toward what Ruth Wilson Gilmore understands as liberation: abolition is emancipation in the making. We do not want a single justice, we want many. We do not want the justice imposed by imperialism, colonialism, racism, and capitalism; we want processes that promote and sustain life.Book Details
