Description

Black and white photograph of a house on Summer Street in Dorchester. The house has a slightly hipped roof with small dormers. On the first level is a protruding window. The house has a front porch on and by which are several people. Vines grow on the porch's columns. There are awnings on the front first and second floor windows. Surrounding the house is a decorative white fence, next to which is a lamp post. Directly in front of the house is a path. On the lawn in front of the house is a bench on which a man and woman sit. In the background is another house as well as a stable or garage with a cupola and weathervane. A horse and carriage is driving toward the main house. On the back in pen, "Photograph of 34 Summer St. Dorchester, Taken about 1880."
