Description

Item is a light-colored wooden souvenir chest featuring a black drawing labeled, "Summit of Mt. Washington." The item is a piece of Mauchline ware. The image features a long two-and-a-half story building with many dormers. There is a train and train tracks out front of the building. In the background is a rocky knoll with what appears to be people standing on it. The chest once secured with a small decorative metal latch; the upper half of the latch is missing. There are two small metal hinges in the back. The inside of the box is lined with partially worn dark felt. There is some writing (illegible) on the bottom of the box. There is also a modern shop sticker which reads, "$88.00 Mauchline Box 155 Bud."
