Description

Small hand-sampled piece of Conway Granite. Conway Granite is made up of the following minerals: quartz (smoky gray), potassium feldspar (pink), plagioclase (white), and biotite (shiny black). Sample is about 180 million years old. Collected by two well-trained geology students for the 2014 "Beyond Granite" exhibition at MWM. Part of a complete (or at least comprehensive) hand-sample collection of all the rocks of the White Mountains.
