Description

Small hand-sampled piece of Albany Quartz Syenite. This rock sample is about 175 milion years old. Quartz syenite contains circular grains of the mineral feldspar. Collected by two well-trained geology students for the 2014 "Beyond Granite" exhibition at MWM. Part of a complete (or at least comprehensive) hand-sample collection of all the rocks of the White Mountains.
