Small hand-sampled piece of rusty schist. This sample is part of the group of rocks known as the Smalls Falls Formation. This sample is about 420 million years old. Collected by two well-trained geology students for the 2014 "Beyond Granite" exhibition at MWM. Part of a complete (or at least comprehensive) hand-sample collection of all the rocks of the White Mountains.
